MaThRad PI Andreas Kyprianou named Inaugural Fellow of the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences

Principal Investigator of the EPSRC Programme Grant Mathematical Theory of Radiation Transport: Nuclear Technology Frontiers (MaThRad), has been named among the inaugural Fellows of the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences

The Academy brings together leading figures from across the UK mathematical sciences to address major national and global challenges, including safe AI, national security, climate resilience, and economic transformation. Election to the Fellowship recognises Andreas’s fundamental contributions to probability theory, his leadership in translating mathematics into real-world impact, and his role in strengthening the UK’s mathematical sciences as critical national infrastructure

As PI of MaThRad, Andreas leads a major interdisciplinary programme advancing the mathematical theory and computational modelling of radiation transport, supporting safer, more robust nuclear technologies through foundational research and cross-sector collaboration.
