Matthew completed a PhD in accelerator physics at the university of Lancaster and the Cockcroft Institute concerning the design of a linac booster for proton radiotherapy applications. He did a brief postdoc in accelerator physics, also at Lancaster, before moving to UCLH as a MaThRad postdoc. Prior to completion of his PhD, Matthew completed a Masters in Physics at Bristol University.
