Rare Event Sampling Workshop
18 – 19 September
University of Warwick
Rare event sampling refers to a large class of simulation methods that allow one to specifically sample particular regions of the underlying state space of a process of interest that would not usually be visited under the usual dynamics of the process. Many areas of radiation transport require methods from rare event sampling, including shielding calculations in fission reactors and dose verification for radiotherapy treatment.
The aim of this workshop is to discuss some of the work and open questions in these areas in order to encourage new collaborations and instigate interdisciplinary projects in this area.
Attendance at the workshop is by invite only. If you would like more information, please contact Emma.Horton@warwick.ac.uk
