Gianmaco
Del Pino
Gianmarco is a Statistics PhD student at the University of Warwick, working under the supervision of Professor Andreas Kyprianou and Dr Dave Foster (UKAEA) on the topic of tritium breeding blankets, which are found at the edge of a nuclear fusion reactor’s core. Together, they will try to devise the setup of an eigenvalue problem from a coupled SDE system, which will describe how much tritium can be produced inside a breeding blanket, a key challenge the fusion industry is facing due to the lack of this isotope in nature. His research interests lie in the topics of SDEs and Levy processes, which were at the core of his Master’s thesis, completed at the University of Warwick as well. Aside from academic work, he enjoys playing football and reading.
